Today, Sunday - February 18, 2007 a Hero went home to Heaven. My sweet Uncle Pete Allee went to Heaven. He was 85 years old and lived a wonderful, full life. He served his country faithfully and proudly in World War II. He was such a fine man. We will miss his love and laughter.

Yes, he is my Mom's older brother. There are only 3 of them left out of the 9 kids. Now, my Mom is the oldest. This is from his son regarding his time in WWII:
By and large he would tell of the funny things that took place in and around his unit. He was a combat engineer....The mission of the 71st Combat Engineers was to build floating pontoon bridges and maintain roadways in the region. This often placed him on close proximity to front line action, sometimes in front of it.
When asked about his combat experiences he would generally find a way to interject humor into what were undoubtedly some very frightening and dangerous situations.
He was discharged honorably on November 26th 1945.
Thanks for this tribute to Dad. he thought the world of you, Jeff and your Mom. I do too. Amy and Johnny are really great also.
