My brother Jeff drove in from Indiana this week. He got to do some incredible genealogy searches while he was here. He went to the Hennesy cemetery in Louisiana on the way down and gather information at the courthouse. He got to do some research on the Allee side of the family as well. We got together with cousins on the Hennesy side of the family. I hadn't seen them in over 20 years. It was a wonderful time. My beautiful sister, Judy was there. Judy is 9 years older than me and Jeff is a year and a half younger than me. I am so thankful for time with family. I had the best time and I love them all so very much.....
We laughed about things my grandmother would say. We remembered the stories of her dancing all night on a boat off the coast of New Orleans before the 1920's. How she spoke french before she learned english and the funny little sayings in french that she would teach us. I remembered that she would sit on the floor and play jax with me when I would spend the night with her. This picture is of my grandmother and my father in front of a statue in downtown Houston in the early 1950's. She was a very tall woman. She was around 5 ft 10 inches tall. She passed away in 1985 and was a huge influence in my life.

The picture on the right was probably taken in about 1912 or so. My grandmother is the one on the far right with the big bow in her hair.
I am so thankful that my brother carried on my father's legacy of tracing our family history. My father worked on it for 20 years before he passed away and now Jeff has spent several years on it. You can see all his work on his web site....
