This is my father's father, Levy Marion Hennesy. He passed away in 1945. He was in his early 40's. In looking at his obituary again today, I saw that he was a deacon at a Park Memorial Baptist Church in Houston. I did some research and discovered that the church had been torn down. It was rebuilt on 75th street in Houston. I called the church today and asked if they had any pictures of their deacons and Sunday School teachers from the early 40's. She said that she might, but wouldn't be able to identify him. She said that she would look through their membership records for any Hennesy's. She called me back within 10 minutes and found them! She saw my grandfather's, my grandmother's, my father's and my uncles and some other Hennesy's that had to be relatives. She is going to copy them and mail them to me. I was just thrilled. Even though I never knew him, he did have an influence on my life. My grandmother told about the time that all the money they had left was $5 and that was the amount of their tithe. My grandfather was a very strong Christian man and gave it in obedience to God's word. A couple of days later, there was a $5 bill in the mail. They never knew who sent it. That lesson has stayed with me to this day. This picture was taken I believe near Avenue O and Wayside on the east side of Houston in the early 40's..........Neat, huh?
