A weekend alone.........I was supposed to go to the Dallas area this weekend. Well, Friday night, I got sick and realized that I was not going anywhere. The rest of my family went on without me.......I got some much needed rest and down time. I have been so overwhelmed with my lack of ability to say no to committments. With jobs, kids, church, and everything else, I was feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes if I don't have down time, it affects me physically. I went fabric shopping on Saturday...oh darn...
I am going to try to make 3 quilts by Christmas. I love fabric shopping!!! That was a blast. I took my time and no one was waiting for me and I got what I wanted. Quilting for me is so relaxing and rewarding. I love being able to be creative and make something for someone else. So much love goes into making a quilt, not to mention the hours and hours. I truly love it.
I got my office organized, did some cleaning and rented a movie............Yes, the dog slept with me. She knows that she is not allowed to otherwise! I took a 3 hour nap today and worked on quilts.
When I get time to myself, I am a better wife, better mom, and healthier person. I enjoy being by myself. I am such a people person, and thrive on being around others, but sometimes it is just plain healthy to be alone. Not lonely at all. Miss my family and can't wait to see them tomorrow.
