Today, Amy and I drove downtown to the George R. Brown Convention Center for the International Quilt Show. We had the best time! I was so in my 'element'. We always enjoy the art quilts on display. What creativity! It always inspires me to want to make all of my quilt projects! I will say that this year was very interesting because there was a row of quilts with a 'political' theme! Amy was one of only a few teenagers there that we could see. There were alot of blue hairs, obviously. I am always one of the youngest there. There are not a lot of quilters my age or younger. Quilting is almost a lost art, I am afraid. I learned to quilt about 10 years ago, from watching a quilt show on HGTV. I learned to sew in high school and in watching the show, I thought.....I can do that! I taught myself and now have taught Amy. Quilting for me is so relaxing and rewarding. It is a gift of love that I enjoy making for others.
I hope you enjoy this montage of quilts.
